The Story About the Piston Poppers MC…
In 1952, Ed and Margaret Kauffman, owners of Kauffman’s Cycles in Christiana, PA
held the first motorcycle meeting of the future Piston Poppers Motorcycle Club. Both Ed and Margaret, along with John “Freddie” Plank, his wife Bonnie and countless others, wanted to promote safe motorcycle riding for all men and women who enjoyed the passion of motorcycles. Over the years, some of these enthusiasts have gone on to become professional motorcycle riders competing all over the United States. We are very proud of their accomplishments and the fact that many started right here at the famous Piston Poppers T/T Motorcycle Track. Now over 50 years at our current location, the Piston Poppers M/C is still going strong and continues to promote the same safe standards from our past generations. We currently hold races each year, in which we draw some of the largest attendances, compared to other tracks left in the district of which we race in. Our track is located a ΒΌ mile east of the intersection of routes 10 and 30 near the end of the Route 30 By-Pass just outside of Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Piston Poppers has riders of all ages, from just 4 years old to some who are over 60 years young, all from different backgrounds, locations and walks of life.
